PHP5 ahoy! (posted 2006-02-14 3:17:22am)So I was adding the recently listened tracks (from Last.fm) and for some reason unknown to me, the combo of Apache 2.0.55 and PHP 4.4.2 was crashing whenever I'd try to get a remote file (via file(), file_get_contents(), using the XML_RSS constructor (which uses fopen) or anything else for that matter. So, I figure it's some quirk and try a snapshot; same deal. So now, I'm using PHP 5.1.1 for my devel since I don't want to have to work around the quirks of PHP4/Apache2, though I may do a manual install of Apache 1.x and PHP 4.x at some point in the future.
gameQuery now done (posted 2006-02-08 2:29:59am)Well, gQ is functionally complete (as far as I can see.) I need to write a HL2 convertor, but that would pretty much be a copy/paste job except for the info packet, but it would still be a 5 minute thing. I'm creating the page for it as I write this.
Half-life page (posted 2006-02-06 4:29:07am)I'm writing a class now to query servers (sort of like gsQuery except that it'll actually be updated (hint: I was going to use gsQuery to query the servers on my HL page rather than fix my own script's oddities, but gsQuery's hlife handler is so out of date it's not even funny.) The Half-Life page will be down for updating but should be back up sometime today (not that anyone uses it anyway.)
Comitium, here I come! (posted 2006-02-05 2:03:45am)So I'm definately going to go into a huge coding streak of working a lot on Comitium; it's just what I'm feeling right now. I'm going to try and stick to using only PEAR packages when it comes to non-forum things (DB access layer, authentication, bbcode, et cetera), that way I reinvent the wheel as little as possible and know I'm getting tested and at least somewhat efficent code at the same time.
Natural Selection web developer (posted 2006-02-04 8:39:30pm)So, about a week ago I read on the NS website that Charlie was looking for a full-time unpaid web developer to help fix the NS website so it could be reopened to the public; so, I made my Resumé page and sent the link to the e-mail he linked to in his post. I'm guessing he didn't chose me for the fact I haven't gotten a mail back in almost a week and a half, oh well. I'm wokring on making the RSSGen RSS 2.0 handler feature complete, and thinking about what I could work on next. Maybe Comitium?
First post (posted 2006-02-04 3:49:39am)So, this is the first post using my new administration panel to make posts. I was bored so I wrote this in about an hour so I could make frequent posts about what I've coded lately without using the mySQL CLI or loading phpMyAdmin up. I've been working on rewriting RSSCreator (now called RSSGen) to use a driver/handler model like PEAR::Log and PEAR::DB, among others; that way it's pretty extensible. I also worked some more on Anabel's zine software, though I've hit a roadblock; I usually only can code what comes to mind as it comes to mind: some days I'll get loads done on what I want, and other days I end up making random things (like my new Half-Life server status page.)
